A look at women*'s place in the visual arts field

POST-INVISIBLES is a biennial that consists in an inclusive moment of exchange focusing on questions surrounding the place of women* in the field of today’s visual arts.

Throughout the history of art, women artists have faced countless inequities compared to men artists. For instance, they did not have access to art schools and were excluded from the artistic circuit. Their practices were associated with the supposedly minor arts and their talent and originality were minimized, at the very least. Sidelined, they remained invisible.

These historical elements have an impact on the current visual arts scene. As it is about time to enter a POST-INVISIBLE era by highlighting the work of women in this field.
