Throughout the history of art, women and non-binary artists have faced countless inequities compared to men artists. For instance, they did not have access to art schools and were excluded from the artistic circuit. Their practices were associated with the supposedly minor arts and their talent and originality were minimized, at the very least. Sidelined, they remained invisible.

These historical elements have an impact on the current visual arts scene.

As it is high time to enter a POST-INVISIBLE era, this biennial event is an inclusive moment of exchange focusing on questions surrounding the place of women and non-binary people in the field of today’s visual arts.
